We visit London Colney tomorrow (Sat 3pm), a side with title winning aspirations who are sitting comfortably in third place in the Spartan League table, seven points behind the current leaders, Hoddesdon Town, but with three games in hand.

They will be desperate to maintain a challenge that has seen them suffer just three league defeats this season, only one of which was at home, a 0-2 reversal against London Tigers way back in October last year.

In our reverse fixture against them – also back in October – they won 1-0 at Second Meadow, although I’m fairly confident that our recent run that has seen us amass 41 points out of a possible 48, means it won’t have escaped their notice that the Biggleswade United side they will be facing tomorrow will be a different proposition to the one they encountered last year.

Likewise Welwyn Garden City who thumped us 5-1 way back in August last year in only the third league game of the season and who hopefully will not find us in so charitable a mood this time around when we lock horns with them at Herns Lane on Wednesday night (k.o 7.45pm).

Behind the scenes plans are afoot to make out annual presentation night to be held at the George’s Hall on May 5, the biggest and best ever.

As always we will be holding an auction with, among other things, a number of Leo Messi signed items up for grabs, and where we will also be delighted to welcome top celebrities from the Premier League and the media to present our annual awards.

At this stage I cannot reveal just who will be there, but what I can promise you is that it should be quite a night.

We are also actively looking now for four or five new young coaches to help out at all levels at the club.

The sort of people we are looking for will already have some type of coaching qualification, but over and above that, we want to find those who are as keen to learn as they are to teach and who want to make a difference.

In addition to helping us to bring on some of the younger sections of the club they will also be able to reap the benefits from the UEFA Licensed coaches we have at the club that can help them gain the experience and necessary qualifications they will need to make their way along the coaching road.
